The Cross Cultural Center is proud of its growing tradition of collaboration with academic departments and student organizations as well as individual students to provide innovative programming throughout the academic year. Individual students presenting at a recognized academic research conference, symposium or leadership conference are encouraged to submit a grant request. Student organizations, and campus departments are also encouraged to submit proposals to support their planning workshops, activities or programs.
The critical part of any funding request we review must support the mission of the Cross Cultural Center. We look for events, activities or programs that advance the institutional goal for campus diversity, and promote social justice. All activities must be open to all members of our campus community. You can download a copy of the grant application form along with guidelines on how to complete the application from this page.
Registered Student Groups or Organizations
Student Organizations who are currently registered with the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) and who plan to host or organize a program that will advance the mission of the Cross Cultural Center are encouraged to submit a grant request. The following are some examples of student organization events that have received funding previously: workshops, panels, educational movie showing, conferences, cultural celebrations, projects with a specific social justice outcome, art shows, symposiums, and concerts. Student organization grants are limited to a maximum of $500.00 per year.
Campus Departments or Programs
Any recognized campus department at UC Davis that plans to hold a program, activity or function on the campus grounds is eligible to submit a grant request. This includes all student government entities, student affairs units, administrative departments and academic departments. Campus department or program grants are limited to a maximum of $500.00 per organization per year.
Presentation at Leadership Conferences, Seminars, Symposiums or Research Activity
We assist with the cost of travel and/or materials associated with research projects for registered students. In order to be considered for funding, a UC Davis faculty member who agrees to oversee the project must provide a letter of sponsorship. We also provide funding for students who want to present at conferences, seminars or workshops that provide them with leadership development opportunities. We assist with costs associated with registration, lodging and food. Individual grants are limited to a maximum of $200.00 per person per year.
